A little word about Antonio...
Hence the icon, Mick was a Trojan last night.

I don't know how it came across on the telly but I think it was obvious to everyone in the stadium that at about 15 minutes in he got clattered into and had his hip or lower back injured quite badly.

Personally I couldn't see how he wasn't hooked as he was limping badly and holding his side for the entire rest of the first half including after he scored his goal. Despite the obvious pain he was everywhere giving his all for the team and was my man of the match.

When he came out for the second half I could only think that he had an injection of painkillers to get him through to the end as he limped less but never entirely shook the knock.

Anyway, I just thought his attitude deserved a special mention particularly at a time when certain players' attitudes and body language points to them thinking that they are bigger than the club.

He played great last night. Feels like he's starting to get back to the player he used to be.

I thought Liverpool were dirty cunts last night with their persistent fouling.

Re: A little word about Antonio...
His attitude has changed completely and I think he realised that he either knuckled down and started to take things seriously or he’d be sold to a lesser club.

He definitely got caught up in all the hype when he was playing well a few years ago and he needed a reality check. He will never be the most cultured of players but he more than makes up for that with sheer pace and power which frightens defenders.

Re: A little word about Antonio...
Fabian proper took him out and of course didn't get the booking, our players had no protection, which is funny as the ref was clearly biased against them..

Christ, a point at home to Liverpool and all is great in the world again. Who said football fans are fickle?

For a bloke that is played in so many different positions you've gotta give him credit.

Played in his best position last night and was excellent.

Hopefully he won't be injured now

Yep, all great, now the problem is the next 3 like Noble he will be shit and not even resemble a professional footballer.

Because the cunt Arnautovic was at home with his bwuised foot watching Chinese football and we only had Pea he also had to do all the physical work competing for headers with Van Dijk while Fabinho stood in front of him and fouled him.
Did that all night til Carroll came on.

Wasn't he on everyone's death list a month or so ago

I thought Hernandez played excellent last night, I almost died of shock when he had a whack from outside the box.

Commentators on the stream I was watching kept saying he got injured during a pileup after his goal.

A few more finishes like his and we would have walked that game.

(Should have shot in the second half though. way too much traffic to try that pass.)

Re: A little word about Antonio...
He was one of my favourite players during our last season at the Boleyn, but he definitely regressed during the past two seasons and I fully expected him to be sold to a club like Palace.

However, whatever the reason, he appears to be knuckling down again and returning to his former good form. Well done to him for proving some of us wrong.

Re: A little word about Antonio...
I'm not his greatest fan. I think he's an athlete first and a footballer a distant second. Wouldn't be the first time that I've been completely wrong about someone but don't think I am with him.

However, his attitude has improved 100% (he may no longer be his own biggest fan) and it looks like he's listening to coaches that know what they are talking about. He's playing much more with his head up which at least gives him a chance to engage brain.

Long may this continue and I hope he properly proves me wrong.

I didn't think he would fit Pellegrini's style.

But I hold my hand up and say we need those athletes, especially when so many of our passing players are out and maybe even when they are back and we might need something different.

Someone text me a few bits from an insider. last night... dunno how true it is or not...

“Antonio his back is fucked. Held together and only on the pitch with the aid of medication. Expect him to be injured soon. He is not a happy man”.

Oh he goes onto say among other things….

“Arnie remains an utter wanker. AWOL from training. Now paid his gambling debts off in Manchester. Off to Italian side in Summer. Team NOT good with him”.

boltkunt 5:17 Tue Feb 5
Re: A little word about Antonio...
Back injury?

Even with medication you'd still notice an issue surely, I didn't notice anything?

Arnie is a cunt, I can believe that.
